The Christian Mothers' Association of Ghana ( CMA ) is a National Women's Non Governmental Organization (NGO) based in the Catholic Church. CMA was formed in the early 1940s by some group of eminent spiritualists for the spiritual andd somehow material advancement of orthodox religious women in Ghana. In the past, emphasis wasplaced on religious activities only. In the early 1960s, a Social Worker from Germny by name
Dr.Helga Kleinkowski, with the help of some Ghanaian Nuns re-organized the Christian Mothers' Asspcoation of Ghana to also cater for the socio economic needds of members.
With the support of Konrad Addenauer Foundation, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung(KAS) of Germany, through the above mentioned Social Worker
an office which used to be the Head office was establishedd in Ghana in 1966.
In 1976, a National Body, was formedd together with the election of Executives who were specially detailed to champion the course
of Christian Mothers' Association of Ghana. With the help of the National Executivesthe existing constitution was drawn.
